Pro-reform protesters have been attacked in the streets of Cairo by men carrying knives.
Over 200 people were marching on Saturday in opposition to the country's ruling military council when they were set upon.
The clashes between groups of armed men and the pro-reformist occurred as the marchers were heading toward Egypt's ministry of defence in Cairo.
The knives were supposedly wielded by other civilians, who had been standing in front of military blockades, set up to stop the peaceful marchers.
The aggressors also hurled stones and firebombs at the demonstrators as soldiers stood by and watched.
The military finally used tear gas and fired into the air to push back crowds.
Ambulances raced to the scene to attend to the wounded.
